Soulflower Design Studio » San Francisco, Napa, Sonoma Floral Design

We’re SO happy to this beautiful couple again (even if only on the web) for their stunning Sonoma Coast wedding!  They were the most chill, down to earth and gracious duo.  They enlisted a dream team to bring their vision to life and it was so fun to collaborate with ROQUE Events and their amazing team of vendors. Can you tell greenery was INTEGRAL to their design?  Special thanks to Green Wedding Shoes for the FULL feature!

   L U C K Y 13     💚
It was 13 years ago that this SOULFLOWER adventure began! I sheepishly but with a faux confidence walked into San Francisco City Hall to apply for my business license and file the fictitious biz thingy (still don’t get that part, it’s not fictions anymore!)  Because on a whim a friend of friend had asked if I would do their wedding flowers. I think friends were tried of hearing about my love for flowers but lack of action. I’d worked with flowers since I was 15 years old but never saw any talent within myself. So I got over that for a moment and had to think of a name, ugh. In college I had always loved a song by the The Pharcyde called ‘Soul Flower’ and especially the remix with The Brand New Heavies and it had layers of meaning for what I wanted to create so I picked it. And holy heck it has been a life changing, incredibly enlivening and sometimes bone crushingly depleting WILD RIDE!!
I’ve learned a thousand lessons that I’ve lost track (trying to start documenting them to help others!) And the relationships and connections and ridiculous creative challenges (“how the hell do we build that??”) and watching so many ‘life moments’ with people—it’s so meaningful. And I’m so grateful for all the support and encouragement from near and far, it blows me away. People want people to succeed, to pursue their dreams and follow their hearts.
Go ahead,PIN IT!Not sure exactly how we got HERE, but I’m grateful and feel like it is truly a lucky 🍀 13 years of business.

A special event at Meadowood Napa Valley recently featured stunning holiday tables created by a number of Napa Valley hosts – a fabulous way to kick off the holiday season.  And I just love the blend of holiday and celebration in our table, perfect for your New Year’s Eve dinner party in black + white + butterscotch!

The event was held in Meadowood Napa Valley’s Vintners Room with its big stone fireplace and vaulted ceiling which gave a cozy and home-like feel. Nearly a dozen “hosts” featured in Napa Valley Entertaining were on hand to sign books and share their entertaining tips, along with author, Blakesley Chappellet and photographer Briana Marie.

In addition to the gorgeous tables by local designers there was local wine, champagne and signature seasonal cocktails to enjoy, like winter manhattans. Guests also enjoyed on delicious hors d’ourvres, Black River Caviar and decadent chocolates with edible gold dust.

The hosts featured in the book and at the event represented the diversity in style that is Napa Valley. We were honored to partner with one of the featured hosts, ROQUE Events.  We combined unusual butterscotch roses with white anemone and evergreen cedar bows on our gorgeous table perfect for the holidays and especially a New Year’s Eve dinner party!

After a whirlwind holiday season, we need a little extra inspo to get the creative juices flowing for our own table setting! Fortunately, we teamed up with the talented Danielle Gibson Events for this holidaaaaay inspired photo shoot featuring’s Target‘s new Hearth & Hand collection.  This collection was created in collaboration with Magnolia, a home and lifestyle brand by Chip & Joanna Gaines. If you haven’t already heard their story, learn about it here. Love these two inside and out for all they do in the world and their amazing eye for approachable design. And you’ll see one of my favorite holiday design hacks: loose winter greens and pomegranates.  Feast your eyes!
