Soulflower on Style Me Pretty

It’s always a good day when we are featured on Style Me Pretty, this time for a romantic occasion at James Leary Flood Mansion. Newlyweds Kathryn and Johnny wanted a hip, fairytale wedding and we think everyone we collaborated with on this event knocked it out of Cinderella’s Dolores Park!

For the perfect marriage of hip and fairytale, we combined tall, classical arrangements with little touches of sparkle and texture.

In addition, to the beautiful setting, we can’t to get enough of Kathryn’s wedding dress by Vera Wang. The dress was also featured in the movie Bride Wars worn by Kate Hudson. We’re still raving about all that gorgeous tulle!

Congratulations to the happy couple Kathryn and Johnny!

2011 Eco-Floral Classes

Greetings from Soulflower on Earth Day! We wanted to celebrate today with the launch of our 2011 Floral Class Schedule. We’re really excited to be able to share our eco-floral design tips and tricks of the trade with the public. In our classes we will share basic floral design techniques so that students will feel more comfortable working with flowers and have some simple environmentally-friendly ways to create floral arrangements, hand-tied bouquets and corsages and boutonnieres.

I also thought it would be fun to share a few photos from our recent private class we hosted for a Bridal Shower. It was so fun getting to know the women who have been a part of our client’s life and will support her in her marriage {the wedding is less than a month away!}

What better than to learn some eco-savvy floral tips, possibly even design your own hand-tied bridal bouquet and have fun in the process. Soulflower is all about living, breathing and designing with fun and heart, come join us!

Jenna + Deva

The beaming couple, Jenna + Deva, were such wonderful wedding clients. The gorgeous photography by Carolyn Quilici for Lisa Lefkowitz captures the couple and the day some beautifully. The ease and beauty that came with working with them showed through in every detail and photograph as you can see.

The wedding day had a fiesta-inspired theme with vibrant fuchsias, pops of yellow and hints of turquoise throughout all the details. Jenna wanted to be sure we incorporated seasonal, festive blooms into the bouquets so we selected the yellow spider mums, fuchsia ‘Thalia’ dahlias, yellow ‘crespidia’ billy balls and fuchsia clover.

They chose to work with a fiesta-inspired theme for their wedding set in the Palm Room of the San Francisco Film Centre. Palm fronds, rattan chargers, vibrant linens and florals dressed their long kings tables perfectly, cheers to a festive celebration!
