Real Wedding: Christine and Habib

May 9th, 2012

This recent wedding at the {Clift Hotel} was the perfect celebration of modern romance in the springtime. Erika of {Captured by Erika Photography} shared these gorgeous images with us and we simply had to share the love! Warm candlelight quite literally filled the room where the intimate ceremony took place. Thank you Erika for such grand shots of this sweet, simple ceremony!

Soft, romantic blooms and blossoming branches are such a lovely combination and completely reflect the sweet personality of the bride and groom. View more from their wedding day by visiting the {Facebook} album. Congratulations to Christine and Habib!

Cheers,
Lydia

Featured: Lexy + Yates

April 10th, 2012

We are so pleased that {Ceremony Magazine} took note of this stunning wedding we were a part of last year at the {James Leary Flood Mansion}. New on their blog this week is the San Francisco love story of Lexy and Yates from the beginning. Read all about it on {Ceremony Magazine’s Blog}.

Lexy and Yates chose a refined black and white palette with dramatic modern floral decor for color. Black manzanita with hanging globes containing silvery accents and soft rose blooms heightened the mood, lifting the ambiance to unimaginable heights. Special thanks to {Ben Chrisman Photographers} for capturing these exquisite details.

Press: Ceremony Magazine Ambiance Antiques Photo Shoot

February 10th, 2012

We are so excited that {Ceremony Magazine} has come to the Bay Area and we are so glad to be a part of the inaugural San Francisco Bay Area edition. It was an honor to work with such high caliber of talent and special thanks to all the other amazing partners we collaborated with on the editorial photo shoot at {Ambiance Antiques}. We are thrilled with the results, so please do enjoy!

We selected {Ambiance Antiques} for the photo shoot because it is a beautiful venue with a thoughtful collection of marvelous antiques right at your fingertips. They have built a reputation on such beauty with 30 years experience in the business of procuring antiques. Old World meets contemporary in this wonderful setting located next to the San Francisco Design Center.

Gilded fixtures and antique French upholstery inspired us for this shoot. We brought overall design together with fine linens from {Wildflower Linens}, elegant china from {Classic Party Rentals} and soft textures in the florals. Our soft color palette included cream, nude, lavender and rose to complement the golden, gray setting.

We are so grateful to Natalie at {Orange Photography} for capturing all the details so gracefully.

Welcome to the Bay Area {Ceremony Magazine}!

Cheers,
Lydia

Happy New Year!

December 29th, 2011

May your New Year’s night sparkle and shine like Courtney and Ben’s at the Bently Reserve. Deep burgundy, ice white, elegant candlelight and a touch of feathers brought the celebration of love and a new year together. Each place setting had a confetti popper for guests to pull when the clock struck twelve. The perfect way to tie wedding and holiday together! Enjoy these elegant photos captured by {Brion Hopkins}.

Katie + Lee featured on Style Me Pretty

November 3rd, 2011

We are pleased and honored that the wedding of Katie and Lee has been featured on {Style Me Pretty}. What more can we say about the stunning detail, classic color scheme and subtly modern design of this San Francisco wedding? In our humble opinion the {San Francisco Ferry Building} has never looked so good.

White phalaeonopsis orchids atop gleaming glass columns compliment the height and stunning architecture of the Ferry Building. Small details in apple green and navy blue tie everything together beautifully. Special thanks to {Lori Paladino Photography} for capturing each and every exquisite detail.

Soulflower on Brooklyn Bride

October 12th, 2011

A lovely Spring wedding we did earlier this year was recently featured on the ultimate modern wedding blog {Brooklyn Bride}.

When the bride, Amanda first came to the Soulflower studio it was to attend one of our fun flower classes. One thing led to another and she asked us to provide the florals for her upcoming wedding. The next time she came to the Soulflower studio it was to join us in hosting a private flower class as a thank you to her bridal party. You may remember it from a previous {blog post}. We toasted to Amanda, played a little bride trivia, and everyone left with their own centerpiece, stunning if we might add as you can see below.

The ceremony and reception were held at the {White Palace}, a beautiful, modernized Victorian home that served as the perfect backdrop for white and coral florals.

Visit our Facebook page to see the entire wedding album featuring photography by {Steep Street}.

Cheers to great friends and great memories,
Lydia

Bradford + Heather

September 9th, 2011

When two unique souls such as Brad and Heather decide to unite as husband and wife the wedding theme must be equally anomalous. We particularly loved this wedding not only because the vaudeville theme was perfect for this couple but it was executed to the fullest detail. The amazing venue {Bimbo’s} was packed with friends, family and a full night of entertainment including a magician, tap dancing accordion player, burlesque dancers, and sword swallowers! You can’t throw a vaudeville themed event without copious performers, a killer ensemble and dramatic florals! Please enjoy these vivid images provided by the fabulous Jules Bianchi of {Jules Bianchi Photography}. Special thanks to the planner, Nelle, from {ZahZoom Weddings and Parties} for her seamless execution!

Deep red roses and purple calla lilies with black feathery accents for the bride and groom.

A vintage typewriter adorned with garden roses and amaranthus compliment the guestbook table.

Lush birdcage centerpieces were one of several cool, eclectic centerpices.

WIPA Comes To Ralston Hall Mansion

August 8th, 2011

Last week we had the honor of sponsoring the WIPA (Wedding Industry Professionals Association) event located at the beautiful Ralston Hall in Belmont. WIPA is a national association that boasts masters and innovators of the wedding industry who are truly genius at what they do. Each event brings a wide range of the best and brightest wedding vendors together for education and collaboration purposes. We had a blast sharing, learning and appreciating great event design with all the other attendees!

Ralston Hall was bursting with creativity and style from cocktail hour to coffee time. Originally the country estate of William Chapman Ralston, a prominent San Francisco financier, construction on Ralston Hall Mansion began in 1864. Comprising over 80 rooms this gorgeous estate is now part of Notre Dame de Namur University. The building’s exterior can be classified as Italiante Villa while the interior incorporates classic 19th century designs reminiscent of Ralston’s early days on Mississippi riverboats. We were in awe of the ornate detailing in everything from the furniture to the windows and doors. It’s always a magical day when we adorn buildings this grand with flowers.

Please enjoy some of our favorite photos from this lovely event from the talented photographer, Julie Kay Kelly.

We went ultra-romantic with dahlias, garden roses and pink peonies in mercury glass and vintage vessels, the perfect compliment to setting and vintage-inspired lounge vignette by Milk Glass Vintage Rentals.

Happy Monday,
Lydia

Scott + Leila

June 7th, 2011

One of our all time favorite couples recently got married at Solage Resort in Calistoga. They chose to do a black and white themed wedding and wanted a bit of style and glam, but in understated touches and details. We agreed that modern elegance with subtle hints feathers in the florals would be a nice way to add that sense of glam and flair. And to be quite honest, they brought their own fun and flair to the day that it shows through in their photos, enjoy!

Ceremony set with a sprinkle of white rose petals, kissing balls and moss spheres all dancing along the aisle. The ceremony area was denoted with two large pedestal arrangements of dogwood, hydrangea and black feathers and ti leaves.

We loved how the lighting gobo ‘spring branches’ created the perfect pattern to mimic their tall dogwood floral pieces on the tables. Brava!

Cheers to the fabulous couple!
