Press: Ceremony Magazine Ambiance Antiques Photo Shoot

February 10th, 2012

We are so excited that {Ceremony Magazine} has come to the Bay Area and we are so glad to be a part of the inaugural San Francisco Bay Area edition. It was an honor to work with such high caliber of talent and special thanks to all the other amazing partners we collaborated with on the editorial photo shoot at {Ambiance Antiques}. We are thrilled with the results, so please do enjoy!

We selected {Ambiance Antiques} for the photo shoot because it is a beautiful venue with a thoughtful collection of marvelous antiques right at your fingertips. They have built a reputation on such beauty with 30 years experience in the business of procuring antiques. Old World meets contemporary in this wonderful setting located next to the San Francisco Design Center.

Gilded fixtures and antique French upholstery inspired us for this shoot. We brought overall design together with fine linens from {Wildflower Linens}, elegant china from {Classic Party Rentals} and soft textures in the florals. Our soft color palette included cream, nude, lavender and rose to complement the golden, gray setting.

We are so grateful to Natalie at {Orange Photography} for capturing all the details so gracefully.

Welcome to the Bay Area {Ceremony Magazine}!

Cheers,
Lydia

Behind the Scenes with Soulflower

December 16th, 2011

Every fabulous event requires an army of dedicated people to see it come to full fruition and this is SO true at Soulflower. For last year’s St. Anthony Foundation Fundraising Gala, we had a grand production creating hundreds of floral arrangements, building tent pole “olive trees” for decor and detailed wrapping over 400 place-setting olive branch swag details. Here’s a quick look at some behind-the-scenes images of our work that week.

Celebrating with the Oracle Education Fund

November 17th, 2011

In October, we were thrilled to be a part of the {Oracle Education Fund} Awards Gala. The purpose of the event was to celebrate young people involved in digital media and technology projects that make a positive impact worldwide. Students from all over the globe, ages 12-19, attended the Oracle Think Quest contest awards at {San Francisco’s Historic Regency Center} .

The event design brought together iconic San Francisco images and warm autumn colors. The ballroom was elegantly lit with over 500 candles, including many accented with submerged blooms and modern swirls of grass. We loved the starry lighting that illuminated the entire room with a deep indigo background, reminding every young person that they are truly a SHINING STAR!

Bravo to Oracle for their great contribution to the young and bright stars of our future!

Cheers,
Lydia

Flower Magazine interview with Emily

August 16th, 2011

I just came across this great feature in Flower Magazine with Owner + Creative Director of Soulflower Floral Design, Emily Dreblow and wanted to share it. What I enjoyed most was how editor Josie Capuano highlighted Soulflower’s core values and practices as it relates to sustainable floral design. She also captured Emily’s impassioned journey that led her from social worker to award-winning, sustainable florist.

As an avid reader of Flower Magazine, it is a thrill that they would reach out to Emily for her expertise in the field as I can think of no one better with whom to discuss organic, low impact design. To read the full interview go to Flower Magazine online.

I also wanted to mention that from now through August 31st, $2 from every Flower Magazine subscription will be donated to the American Red Cross as a result of the devastation caused by this Spring’s deadly tornadoes.

Cheers,
Lydia
