We just got back from the Eventworld 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland. Between the lovely waterfront, crabcakes and hot summer sun – we had a blast! And we’re thrilled to announce that Soulflower Floral Design and Morgan Events won an Esprit Award from the International Special Events Society (ISES) for Best Green Solution. The award is given to a member or team of ISES members that has demonstrated excellence in green event design and execution. WOW, and hurray!!

Our event recognized for this award was a 50th Birthday celebration entitled, “Aged to Perfection” was a celebration of wine and wonderment at the California Academy of Sciences. Special thanks to all those that contributed to the event: Morgan Events, California Academy of Sciences, Taste Catering, Blueprint Studios, Got Light?, Geoff White Photography, Bauer Transportation, Twig and Fig and the wonderful Soulflower staff.

August 18th, 2010Wheat grass for all of us!
July 30th, 2010
Wheat grass is a wonderful, healthy centerpiece option for you and your guests! It is quite easy to cultivate yourself and also an inexpensive option for your floral designer to provide. Following your event the grass can be washed, juiced and added to a smoothie or shake for a boost of vitamins and minerals. We love a little bit of extra wheat grass in the studio for our team to stay healthy and enlivened!
Bouquets to Art 2010
July 26th, 2010
A few months ago we developed a piece for the San Francisco De Young Museum’s floral exhibit: Bouquets to Art. We were honored to be a part of the exhibit and were assigned a very well-known photo by Arthur Trees, ” Bride and Groom” and charged to interpret the artwork in flowers. Here are our process photos from the initial sketch to constructing the final piece – so fun!
